Practical research experience is a vital part of an education in any scientific discipline, and we’re proud to say that Washington & Jefferson College offers a variety of research options for students to work with faculty. The curricula for both the natural and social sciences heavily feature lab courses, and students are also encouraged to pursue independent study opportunities in which they work one-on-one with our professors in the lab.

Many of our students have published work they’ve conducted with professors in both national and international scientific journals, and several have even been featured as first author on their work!
