WASHINGTON, Pa. (September 11, 2013)—Want to help raise money for a couple of nonprofit organizations that make an impact in the local community?

Buy a Phi Psi!

The Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) chapter of the fraternity is hosting its second annual “Buy a Phi Psi” brother auction, to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and the LeMoyne Community Center, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Rossin Campus Center Ballroom.

W&J junior Matt Wieszczyk said admission to the event is $1. He expects more than 25 of the fraternity members to be available to be “auctioned off” for four hours of their time and services, which last year included making dinner, washing a car and cleaning a room. More than 200 people attended the inaugural event.

“Last year, we raised more than $850. Since the event was such a success, we have decided to make it an annual event,” said Wieszczyk, adding he would like to raise $1,500 this year. “This is something original, something fun, and everyone is on board. It is an easy way to give back to a few of the local charities.”

Students Olivia Long and Rachel Malingowski will be the hosts for the evening.
