Cathy Altmeyer, M.A.

Cathy Altmeyer is a PA-certified teacher of German K-12 and has been teaching at W&J since 2001. Her interests include everyday life in Germany, and the use of children’s literature as a tool in undergraduate German courses. She has taught students of ages 5 to 70 years in German, Spanish, and ESL. She is very active in the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German and helps to arrange biannual workshops for foreign language teachers. She also enjoys working with future foreign language teachers and teaches “Theory and Techniques of Teaching Modern Foreign Languages” biennially. Cathy is the W&J coordinator for the Three Rivers German Day Competition for secondary students, which is held annually at W&J.
