Christy Shaughnessy, Ph.D.

Professor of Spanish

Degrees: Ph.D. Spanish, University of Virginia; M.A. Spanish, University of Wyoming; B.A. Spanish and Political Science, Newcomb College of Tulane University

Christy Presson Shaughnessy, Ph.D. is a professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages. She also teaches courses in Gender and Women’s Studies. Dr. Shaughnessy’s research interests include the representation of gender, race, and postcolonialism in late 19th and early 20th-century Peninsular Spanish literature.
