Dana Shiller, Ph.D.

Dana Shiller is a Professor in the Department of English. She teaches a range of courses in 19th and 20th century British literature, including the Victorian Novel, British Modernism, British Women Writers and Contemporary British Historical Fiction. Her scholarly focus is the uses of the past in contemporary British fiction, and specifically in Neo-Victorian studies, which explore the literary and cultural manifestations of the Victorian Era in contemporary literature and life. Dr. Shiller’s other teaching interests include Holocaust literature, detective fiction, environmental literature (which she teaches as an elective for the Environmental Studies Program) and composition. She is also an affiliated faculty member in the Gender and Women’s Studies Program, where she teaches both the core courses: Introduction to GWS and Theories of Gender.
