Proving Professional Readiness
“It’s been really cool working in a lab at a top research university,” Hurwitz said, noting that she mainly developed Qualtirx surveys and tested participants in her role, interacting with them in-person. “I’ve done research in the past…but it’s always been online. This is the first time I’ve been able to do something different.”
Exploring with Magellan
“I think the Magellan is an incredible opportunity unique to W&J’s students,” she said. “It gave me the experience and courage I needed to be able to travel and use my language skills without worry, and I think everyone should take advantage of it.”
Proving Professional Readiness
“Working as a supervisor in the Office of Admission and as an [Residential Assistant] prepared me to take initiative…and the breadth of my classes are also contributing to my success,” Bonifate said “Having access to a CT scanner is no small feat, and to be trusted to run scans on my own, as a visiting undergrad, really makes me consider how lucky I am to have had lab experiences that prepared me.”
Exploring with Magellan
“I believe that being able to put myself into another person’s shoes and gain world experience will help me to be a successful and empathetic person,” Phillips said, “and the Magellan program gave me the tools to start that journey.”
Leading the Way
“W&J has given me multiple opportunities, both inside and outside of the classroom, which have prepared me,” Giampa said. “And this internship has been an invaluable experience. Going into it, I knew that I loved looking at old documents, but in nearing its end, I have found a passion in the research that can be done with these documents.”
