The Forensic Science minor introduces students to the specialized fields of forensic science and the fundamental principles of science and technology upon which they are based.
The six-course minor complements the academic background of students interested in pursuing a career or graduate program in forensic science laboratory work; forensic pathology, dentistry, optometry, or a coroners or medical examiners; forensic psychology; or a career in the judicial system; law enforcement; forensic accounting; forensic illustration or photography; detecting art forgery or theft; or computational or digital forensics.
Course work provides an introduction to evidence collection and scientific analysis; the mathematics of collecting and interpreting data; human behavioral and societal structures and the criminal justice system; forensic laboratory procedures; and techniques or advanced aspects of forensic psychology.
