Mathematical Physics

Major Emphasis

A major emphasis in Mathematical Physics prepares students to describe and apply the central applied mathematics concepts and techniques that allow scientists to study and predict physical systems (calculus, probability and statistics, linear algebra, ordinary and partial differential equations). The program’s interdisciplinary nature provides students with the foundation to identify mathematical approaches that form the foundation of the subjects in the undergraduate physics canon.
