WASHINGTON, Pa. (Feb. 11, 2014)—Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) will host two free financial aid seminars—Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Howard J. Burnett Center’s Yost Auditorium—for families looking to secure financial aid to help fund the cost of college.

“The financial aid process can easily appear overwhelming, especially to those families who are submitting an application for the first time. Parents and students will learn what they need to do to apply for all types of financial aid,” said Michelle Anderson, director of financial aid at W&J.

The program will explain how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required to qualify for most student aid programs such as the Pennsylvania State Grant, Federal Pell Grant, institutional awards and low-cost federal student and parent loans.

The information is the same at both seminars.

“We are offering two dates to accommodate more families,” Anderson said.
